In the early 2000 's Kjell Gunneng from Luster began feeling pains in the joints of the body. He especially hurt in the knees. In 2003, the pain was so great that he went to see a doctor.
After an examination at the hospital in Sarpsborg, he was diagnosed with arthritis.
-The doctors said that they could keep the ailment in check with tablets and treatments, but I could never get well.It was a sad message to get, he says.
Major problems
The knee problems Gunneng was experiencing were so great that his everyday life was reduced significantly. It was especially difficult to walk.
-I had pain in my body throughout the whole day. When it was at its worst, I could not walk a hundred meters before I had to stop. My knees were constantly accumulating inflammation. The doctors could see that my left knee was much wider than the right knee, and I made many trips to the doctor to drain fluids from my knee.
Gunneng regularly went to see a physiotherapist and received treatment at a rheumatic fitness center. He also used large amounts of painkillers. Still Gunneng never gave up hope of getting better.
-I have a strong faith, and with my background, I have a lot inside. For years I traveled with the wellknown healing preacher Aage Samuelsen and played the accordion. I have therefore seen and experienced a lot in life and I know that God can heal.
Healed at the Miracle Saturday meeting
On October 15, 2011 Gunneng made the trip from Luster to Vennesla, where the Miracle Saturday meeting was arranged. Here he received prayer from Svein-Magne Pedersen. While receiving prayer he did not feel anything in particular, but in the days after he experienced constantly getting better. Finally the pain was gone. A few months later he was at a check-up at the rheamatic department at the hospital in Førde.
-There I met a very surprised head physician. I still remember the words he said : "Gunneng , you do not have arthritis anymore." It was wonderful news to receive. The doctor also observed that my knees were the same size and that the swelling was gone. Blood tests also showed that the arthritis was gone.
In the time that followed Gunneng had not noticed any symptoms of the ailments. Now he goes for long walks without pain.
The doctors were wrong
-It is obvious that God has intervened. The doctors said that I had to live with the symptoms , but in this they were wrong. They have old blood samples to document that I had arthritis and new blood samples that show that I'm healthy. In the course of the year, other people have prayed for me, and I have been cured of both asthma and COPD. I thank God for everything that has happened, says Kjell Gunneng.
